Just wondering what you think of the new look to Yulelog. I'd like to see darker colors the beige and grey color scheme seems harder to read.

I agree about the colors. The colors combined with the smaller letters make it hard for me to read.

To change the scheme follow these simple directions.

Under the 'My Stuff' tab, select 'My Preferences'. Scroll down to 'Your preferred stylesheet' and then select 'ubbthreads-dark' it will change the scheme so the background is dark and the text is white. There is also a preview button that you can use to see what it will look like before you authorize the change.

It's great!!! I'm learning new computer skills everyday with the new board.

I might just keep up with my grandchildren on the computer now!

I think this board is great and Todd has done one super job in getting it up and going.

Heaven knows for an old timer like myself, whose computer skills lack lots, I am just amazed.

I hate it!! I don't like change - LOL I'm too lazy to learn. And for me it is much bigger, so don't know about the people who say it is smaller. Colors are fine and print is larger???? I don't like the new messages on the bottom....I keep reading the top ones and wonder why they aren't new....Also, how are you all getting those cute pictures under your names???

Take a close look at the first couple of topics about the new board and you will learn many of the answers to your questions. Its not as bad as you think.

I just changed the text size, so everything is a little bigger.

I copied the default style sheet, made most of the fonts larger and set it as the default spread style sheet. This should make the txt larger if you are using the default style sheet or select the one labeled with larger text. Not prepared to mess with the colors yet. I'm no artist and my color choices might now work well. (just ask my wife when it comes to me choosing my clothes!)

Look at me! I actually figured out an avatar....now I have to find a better picture. Todd, mine has been really big since the beginning - don't know why but it has.

I'm getting used to it, slowly but surely. Is what we have currently what we'll have until the next major overhaul?

All in all, I'm just glad we still have the boards and appreciate Todd's hard work on putting this thing together.

Thanks Todd!

The major change has happened. I am now just tweaking and adding or removing features.

I know we will use them in the club. Most likely on the discussion forums too.

Hi SG,
I just changed my color scheme to the "dark" side and love it!! It was kind of a shock at first, but it really helps make the type on the screen "pop".

Plus, it kinda looks like dark chocolate!

I like this new look--thanks for enlarging the print, it is much easier to read now! Some fun features to play with too! Will take some getting used to for all, but glad to have Yulelog! Thanks Todd for all the extra work!

I'm getting used to the new look of our board. Thanks from me, too, for enlarging the print. I do wish the newer posts were at the top (maybe because that's what I'm used to??), but at least the page opens on the next reply posted since I last looked. And I'm hoping my stock avatar works out for now. I'm longing for warm weather!! I'll take some time to use one of my own pictures for my avatar one of these days!

Thanks for all the hard work involved in setting up the new board!

I was gone all day and came home to find more changes here. I like the pictures by the names of the forums. It's taking some getting used to, but I think we will all end up liking the new board.

Everyday the site gets better and better. With all the personal avatars and birthdays I feel like I'm getting to know more about everyone even thou alot of us have been here for over 7 years.

This is a test message. I just want to see if I can still post. Haven't been on here much lately so this is going to take some getting used to. I am having a hard time finding the newest messages, especially when a topic has several pages.

I logged in but my name is not showing up in the "Who's Online" box. Am I invisible or anonymous. I have a lot to figure out here.

Hi all! Just getting to explore the new board and I think it rocks! I think it looks more streamlined and has a lot of really cool features. YEAH for AVATARS!! Most other boards I visit have that feature and it in many ways it becomes your online persona! Thanks Todd, keep up the good work! \:\)

Wow, I never realized how little I know about computers.
Avatars - never heard of the term before. I asked my son
and he just rolled his eyes and shook his head. It will
take me awhile, but I'll eventually figure it out.

That seems to be a universal response from kids! Mine is so good at it that I can ask him a question over the phone and feel his eyes rolling. I would never have managed on here when I first joined without his help. Now, I'm figuring some things on this new board out for myself. I'm so proud that I'm giving myself a pat on the back!

I'll add them back when I get some time. There is no batch mode, so I have to add them one at a time.

I'm not sure what you mean. Are your dates showing up in the wrong format? You can set the way they show by going to My Stuff and choosing My Preferences.

Todd,

Any chance we could have a few more themes? The default is alright, but that dark theme is terrible on my eyes. I couldn't find what version of the board you are using though.

I found a winter theme on UBBThreads forums that looks to be easy on the eyes:

Maybe. I'll have to look into it. Not real familiar with the process. This is version 7.2.2. If you point at the UBB logo at the bottom the version pops up.

I may have mentioned this before, but I really like that the Yuleloggers Club members are a "group" and we don't have to enter a forum password every time we enter the members area. I'm real fond of using the back button and now I can get out of the members forums, then back in, or any where else more easily.
