I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season! I know many of you are busy putting up your Christmas trees and unpacking your ornaments for display.
I am happy to say I have been hard at work to add the most requested feature for YuleLog for iOS:
Sorting, Filtering, and Exporting Collection on the iPhone/iPad app
If you navigate to your main collection screen on the iOS page. You will notice some changes coming in the next couple of days.
The "Reports" screen allows collectors to sort their collections, filter, and to export their collections as PDF or CSV
I am working on improving this even further, but I really wanted to release this version in time for the holidays. Please direct all feedback to [email protected] and let me know what you think.
Barcode scanning has been in the Price Guide since the iOS app launched. However, many users have expressed the need to scan a barcode to pull something up in their existing collections.
There is now a Scan Barcode button for collections, so you can find items in your collection via barcode.
It works a bit differently than its Price Guide counterpart. Instead of opening the item, it populates the search field with the barcode.
My wife and I just returned from a great weekend in Kansas City. We finally made the pilgrimage to the amazing Hooked on Ornaments headquarters. Surprisingly, I have never visited before (though I have been to Hallmark KOC conventions in KC over the years - I really wish they still had those.

I met so many great people, artists and collectors, and I was able to gather some valuable feedback in real time to make improvements to YuleLog for Web.
By far the most popular request was:
If an item is already in your collection, the Price Guide details screen will present a visual indicator so that you know you already have an item.
Imagine you are out shopping and want to know if you have an item in your collection already before buying. You can now scan the box barcode and YuleLog will tell you if an item is in your collection already (or if it's set to status "Wanted" and is on your Wishlist).
Over the next couple of days, an update will roll out to the iOS and Android versions of the app.
