OK, now it is installed. It will take me a while to tweak it, so lots will be changing over the next few days!

Woo Hoo~! I looked earlier and said down for maintenance. Only thing I don't see so far on first glance is the club board and meeting board but I'm sure you have your hands full with the transition so I'll just be quiet.

Thanks for everything, Todd~~!!!

Dear Todd,

I'm confused with all the new things to click on around here and what they do or don't do!! What do I need to do to make the last post in a thread be the first one I see? I tried the "Descending" or "Ascending" things, but nothing changed after I submitted them.

Also, is there a place to see what time I was on here last, so I can know what time to look at posts after?

Please help!!

Looks great Todd! Thank you sooo much for adding the calender too! I also agree about the newest post appearing first.
Now I need to check out the rest of the new board.

Karen, I'll let you know as soon as I figure it out. I'm not sure yet what I can and can't do. Just keep playing with things, and so will I. People will post hints as they find them.

It looks like I might have to grant permission to the Collector's club members. Working on figuring that out.

Something great I noticed is that once your cookies are set and you click on a topic with new posts, you are automatically taken to the first post that you havent' read. With that feature, or a "go to first unread" which is in one board I read, I do not mind at all what order the posts are in.

Btw, I don't have the club boards. Maybe this is like on that same other board where there are some controversial topics (debates, etc.) that one must subscribe to?

Edited to add that I love the "Mark All Read" feature.

Guys, there are still lots of things to work out and learn, but I'm exhausted. Been at it (exercise, day job, YuleLog) since 5:00 AM and I gotta wind down a little.

I'll keep at it, but it may be a few days before we get everything to suit us.

Thanks for understanding!

Todd

Testing if I can post - it looks different from the old yulelog board but similar to other boards I go to - seems very user friendly. Thanks!

For some reason, my browser won't add the new board to my bookmarks. I'll be a little less likely to visit the board if I have to type in http://www.yulelog.com, select the drop down to go to the bulletin boards, whick takes me to the old board, and then click on the link to go to the new board. Much easier on the old board where I could just click on my bookmark.

That worked for me! It's a little disconcerting to have my screen jump down to the last place I've read since I'm not used to that. I can see how that will be handy when I do get used to it. I didn't get home until late last night and didn't look at all the stuff very good. Hopefully, I can look more tonight.

I'm also thinking, but not 100% sure, that this has a "timeout" feature since I was on last night and then away from computer for awhile but left window open and returned later to see I was "gone" from Who's Online. I was experimenting with the boards a bit last night so clicking around and refreshing so like I said, I'm not 100% sure about this.

When will we be able to access the Yulelogger Club boards?

If we can't get to them now, does that mean there won't be any new posts there until we all can access it?

New board is great. Thanks for all the hard work you did. When will we be able to see club board? I've been trying the different sights.

At this point, and I am trying find out for sure, it appears I will have go to each club member's profile and manually add them to a Club group before they can see and access the club boards. This may take a while, since there are over 200 members, but I will probably ask for help and set up a few temporary moderators to speed it up.

The cool thing about this, is once you are added to the club group, when you log in, you won't need an extra password to get to the club forums. People not in the group, won't even see the forums listed, (which is why you can't see them now).

One of the club officers may want to send out a club email to explain this.

Sorry! One of the new features is that I, as administrator, for trouble shooting purposes, can become any member. I was testing this to see what it would like if I set you up as a moderator to help with adding the club members. Thought I had logged out as you and back in as me, before I posted, but I guess I goofed!

Hi Todd:

That is the same address I go to when I click on the link from the old board. I tried typing it in and still no luck.

It is strange, but it is just the main board that I can't bookmark. I can bookmark discussions and individual topics, so I've bookmarked the Ornament Collecting dicussion and can access the rest of the board from there. So, I'm fine.

I also occasionally get script error pop ups, so it looks like my browser (AT&T Yahoo) doesn't like a few things about the new board. Overall, I like the new board. It is more like some of the other boards I read. Thanks for all your hard work Todd.

toppershopper, maybe you could delete your OLD bookmark/favorite and then ADD the new link. Worth a shot.

Todd - You have really made a great new board for all Yuleloggers :)! It must have taken quite a bit of time to do it - I cannot begin to imagine!

It has been fun playing around with the board the last couple of days!! I didn't know for sure what an "avatar" was, but quickly figured out that it is the picture beneath one's name ... I found one of my own and was able to download it!

It looks like the board is going to be even more interactive than before ... This could become VERY addictive ;)!!
