Hello,
I was! It really didn't contain very many products in comparison to previous years. Isn't Open House to showcase all of the holiday items?

I was wondering about that too. I didn't see the Christmas Story ornaments in the flyer or anywhere else for that matter. Are there any other ones available that weren't in the dream book or the flyer besides Christmas Story ornaments? I like to have some idea so I can make a list before I go. I tend to forget what's available if I don't

Which one are you referring to as the "open house flyer"? I think I have a couple things here that are from Hallmark. My local store's specific one hasn't arrived yet. I did hear that the VIP invites were mailed a week ago by bulk mail; so hope it gets here by next week.

This is a trifold brochure; the cover reads "Sled in Now and Save at Holiday Open House" It had the $10.00 coupon off any $50.00 purchase.

I have the booklet that's about 28 pages and has reward certificates enclosed. The front has one of the new penguin ornaments and it says "The magic starts now HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE, NOVEMBER 3-4". It has the special offers inside as well as regular ornaments. I also have the tri-fold brochure with the coupon.

I haven't received the tri-fold with the $10 off $50 purchase. I hope I get that!!! I did get the thicker Open House mailing with my gcc and the cover has a Jingle Bells card on it.
I thought the Frosty the Snowman ornaments in it were cute and may get those as take-home's for my Christmas guests this year.

Hmm, I guess I have not received the open house booklet/catalog yet. I've only received the trifold.
On a side note, I did receive my first VIP invitation! :-)

I am very pleased with the Hallmark mailers. I got the tri-fold with the coupon, spend $50 and get $10.00 back. I received the booklet with a GC $10 certificate inside. Yesterday I received 3 VIP invitations... Whoo! Hoo! I am ready for open house weekend.

I guess I just need to demonstrate more patience! I still haven't received the booklet yet. Maybe once I get that, my expectations will be met!

I've received all the mailings, coupons, etc. But I have yet to get my VIP invite. I was really hoping it would be in today's mail, but no.
Has anyone else here in my area received their invitations?

Only received Crown Rewards booklet. Nothing else. Last year i got my VIP invite the day after the event. My retailer said she would hold a bag for me. Maybe the fires keep the mail from arriving. No, the Malibu fire is out. Hope to see everything else this week

I will tell you what disappointed me the most. Receiving the October Debut fold-out flyer in the mail this past week. I thought it was for the Open house until I saw the Mini ornaments savings of $10 on two sets and looked more closely at the date...Oct 6 and 7. That would explain why I felt a little confused when I walked into a Hallmark on Oct 6th and saw the Limited Quantity Ornies and thought why didn't I know these were coming out. Thankfully I didn't want any of them anyway.

Ok, I received the open house booklet in today's mail. I must said that I was not too excited with the booklet. Seemed like Hallmark is really focused on cards and not the gift items. Just my two cents!

I've received about 9 invitations so far.
No way I'm going to use that many. If somebody local wants to meet up for shopping, I can pass a VIP bag coupon along.
If there is somebody long-distance who wants a VIP bag that didn't get an invitation, send me an email with what you want to buy to make the minimum $ to earn one. I ask that if you do this, you guarantee you'll pay for the purchase and shipping as I'm a mom and can't afford to pay for somebody else's change of mind.
Back to the question posed - they never show all the special pieces available because not all stores order the holiday items. The mailers only cover the stuff that every store is supposed to stock, which is a small portion of what is available to order. The trifold mailer I thought did a good job of covering the specials that would draw folks into the stores. It was clear and uncluttered and got the messages across easily. The 28-page Dreambook-like mailer was fun to look through. I liked the tie-in with the commercial line, "what will you keepsake this year." So no disappointment here.
By the way, they almost made that penguin collection look cute. Seeing the covers of the tri-fold and the catalog together though, made me realize what would have made them more to our taste - the Snow What Fun penguin has larger eyes closer to the beak. I think I'd like the South Pole Pals better if they didn't have those really tiny far apart eyes, but rather more like the singing plush guys. Maybe if I find them on sale after Christmas I can adjust the eyes to make them cuter.

I haven't received nine invites since the early 2000's! A few stores have closed in this area and I haven't been spending what I use to. I only received two this year but that is more than enough and I've offered one to another collector friend.
I thought the flyer(s) I received were fine but, like someone posted below, they could have shown a few more gifty items. I don't spend big bucks on wrapping paper or bags but I suppose others do. I do like the $10.00 off coupon!

I didn't get a VIP invite. Maybe my local store will give me one anyway. I can hope, right?
