Went to Hallmark on Monday for Appreciation Week, and to get my free Just Because card. The selections are all changed. Not only new designs, but smaller cards, thinner paper, and exclusive Just Because envelopes to go with the cards. Sometimes I would ask for a different color envelope to go with the Just Because cards. The associates didn't mind, the envelopes were the same as other cards. No more. Another change from Hallmark.

Also wanted to add the envelopes are all white, with Just Because in the corner on the back of the envelope.

I would probably get the free Just Because cards if I had a local Hallmark.

looked like prices were up too. I could not find any $1.99 cards.

Well, the Just Because cards were always $2.99. Hallmark didn't raise the price, but the quality is not the same. I guess they would say you are getting the cards for free.
I did see some of the former Just Because card designs now within the regular cards selling for $3.99.

Well like eveything else, a product gets smaller, to keep the price point. I'm glad though that you mentioned enevelope colors, as I often like a coordating enevlope and so forth, though I doubt receipents often care.

I not only like to coordinate the envelope colors, I usually coordinate the postage stamps as well. I know, it's me, but it does look so nice. I wonder sometimes if anybody notices.

If I know someone's favorite colors, I try to find a card in that color too. I have a slew of different forever stamps to match. I use Halloween stamps, Valentine stamps, Christmas stamps, and I like to use floral stamps on sympathy cards. It's just something I like to do.

Even the regular cards are pricey. I told the managers years ago, "too much frills, as in ribbons bows, string. A beautiful card with the right words works just as well."
I am a huge fan of cards, and I love reading actual books. You can keep both forever. When my mother passed, I would look at the cards she sent me, and I still do.
An e-card or digital book is not the same.

I whole heartly agree. Though I don't go as far as coordinating stamps execpt for Christmas card. I've been saving cards that my parents gave me since proably the late 80s. These though weren't just general birthday cards, but lets say "pop culural" in nature.

I even save one of the Christmas cards I send out every year and look at them from time. There have been times when I have sent out cards with one predominent color two years in a row, I think i will have to change the main color for this coming Christmas. Does anyone elese remember no, but I do.

I alway do look at stamps, just to see what the artwork is.

I am glad I have several of the former Just Because cards. My store had a big selection of the new JB cards; however, I’m not impressed with them. I’ll still get my free card each month. I like the suggestion of getting a different envelope. I like to use special stamps to match also.
