What an adventure Hurricane Milton was in my area. I was so happy to get my power back yesterday. Three and a half days without power was enough for me.

My house had no damage. There are trees down everywhere. So much flooding near the Gulf or rivers.

I was wondering if you were hit with the hurricane. Glad to see you back on the board.

I'm glad to hear you're OK and have power again.

A transformer near my house blew just after 5 on a Friday night last July. I didn't have power again until Monday around noon. I spent two nights in my house; the first one was OK but the second one was so painful I checked into a nearby hotel for Sunday night. I had to go to a laundromat on Saturday night since I was almost out of clean clothes.

When I called one nearby hotel chain to see if the location near me had power I talked to someone who needs lessons on being understanding to people who call to check whether a location has power before making a reservation. The guy I talked to told me that he had just finished watching a baseball game from Kansas City, MO and they didn't have power problems. I managed to not tell him that I think he's an idiot for telling me that, the Royals play in Missouri, and that's a different electric company. I knew that people had come from several states requiring a long drive to come and help, but to tell someone who knows enough to call and ask about a power outage before making a reservation doesn't deserve an answer like that. I told him I have two friends who live in my suburb and they had power while I didn't and houses down the street had power before I did. I stayed at another chain's location where the manager told me they had problems with people above the first floor who had challenges getting down there.
