A sad time for me, my older sister passed away in January. We used to have fun "hallmarking" together especially after Christmas. Now I have 8 large boxes of ornaments to get rid of, this added to my already large collection I need to pare down. My question, are people still using ebay for ornaments and how is it to use? Think now you have to set up a checking account??? Wish it were still using paypal, that was easy! Any suggestions? Have been so overwhelmed with liquidating her household of things, so hard physically and emotionally. She passed 3 days after her 79th birthday. Makes me wonder just how much of my own I want to keep, feel bad for my 2 sons who will have to deal with all I have. Sad times

Very sorry to hear of your sisters passing. We will keep her, you and your family in our prayers.
We will also pray you find a home for her ornaments and other things.
I haven't sold on Ebay in a while. So much has changed that I gave up selling stuff there.
You might want to list her ornaments here on the Buy/Sell/trade board. This way you can request whatever types of payment you prefer. I would suggest smaller lists, maybe no more than 20 ornaments in a post. More likely to get collectors to read the whole list.
Our prayers are with you, and good luck with the ornaments sales.

SO sorry to hear about your sister.
I use our yulelog board. Prices have to be lower to get any interest. I get the most interest from the facebook groups that have sale boards. Still I check prices and try and sell lower. It's harder to sell without some kind of instant pay. Which I do not have. I always state in any ad what kind of payment I take.
You have been around long enough that it will not be a problem on yulelog sale board.
You can try some of the bigger dealers. They will buy it all but you will get a lower price.
My original Hallmark friend always told me "Hallmark is a lot easier to buy than SELL". It takes so much work to write ads, post ads, wait for $$-that sometimes never comes, figure postage, pack & box it up, and then take to a post office to mail.
Some series are hot- birds, puppy love, fairy messenger, butterflies. Common ornaments are very hard to move even at 1/2 of box price. Many are even less.
GOOD LUCK.

You have my most sincere condolences.
You might also look into selling on Mercari.

Thank you for your kind remarks and condolences. Going through her box of dream books, etc. she saved a lot! She also has several price guides, if there any market for things like this? She has 3 hard cover hallmark books, they are really heavy, I have copies of them so don't need them. Where would I list these on the buy sell board? think the 1st book was 1998.

List them in the For Sale thread in the Yulelog Buy/Sell/Trade Forum.

So sorry for the loss of your sister.
When I got cancer the first time in 2004 I sold, traded and gave away about 1000 ornaments and kept only my absolute favorites, which to my surprise turned out to be the more traditional ornaments. I broke up collections and series to keep only what I loved. I kept only a trunk and a couple of large storage bins plus two bins of my kitchen/foodie ornaments.
When I got sick my son asked me to thin down the collection of ornaments so he wouldn't have to deal with it. He is not a Christmas fan so he didn't want to be stuck dealing with it. When I got home, after four months at the Cancer clinic, it was the first thing I did. At that time I started an "add one - remove one" rule. I have to really love an ornament to buy it because it means I must remove one. I have not broken the new rule since. It really forces you to keep only what you really love.
Good luck with the collection.
Marie
