We should almost start a fake pool. "Guess what day the first ornaments will arrive."

Apparently HAUL-miss-the-MARK must be the the shipping company delivering my ornaments. Because they still haven't arrived. Let's see I place the renewal in March, they say ship mid May, and still nothing in my mailbox. Why did I even bother to renew, Then they wonder why membership is dropping.

Yeah they really need to get caught up with the Twenty-First Century. This reminds me of times when you ordered something and had to wait 6-8 weeks or more for delivery. If they're going to do this then I would much rather wait until they have ornaments in stock and ready to ship before renewing, that way they take the money instantly and ship your ornaments at least within a week. None of that pending charge and falling off charge baloney being done repeatedly over and over again(once or twice maybe but not like 5 times). I mean I am aware that for some companies a charge may fall off but the item is usually shipped and the money cleared within a week's time...but no one that I deal with does it like Hallmark!

I'd like to see an option to have them shipped to the store and let us pick them up at say the Wish List event or something. And the Wish List event could be an easy way to recruit new members since the store could have extra membership ornaments to sell new memberships.
But, they'd probably charge both the consumer and the store for the shipping and make a killing, so bad idea. I wouldn't mind paying the shipping to get it shipped to the store, but I'd hate for the store to have to pay it.
Remember the year that postage was going up in April, so they shipped all of the ornaments in March to avoid that? It can be done.

I paid by check this year to avoid the rollercoaster of anticipation followed by disappointment. Don't remember who suggested it, but thanks!

Lisa That is how we paid too. Much easier so they don't get your hopes up 5 different times!!

Ralph I do. I think the warehouse space and resources are going to have problems if they delay too long. I have to think there is a problem with some of the ornaments or they wouldn't have been delayed like this. And since none of the combinations shipped when they originally said they would I think the problem is with at least two of the designs. Once they have stock for two of the ornaments they ship those orders out, and since none have arrived yet it makes me think at least two of them have problems.

I do my oldest number every year by credit card, and the rest I do in-store, so they're paid, and to also avoid the teeter-totter of the endless authorizations. Although it makes for quite a trip to the car when they arrive in these odd-numbered years! But it also helps my store in a very important category that is closely monitored by Hallmark.
I've also voiced my opinion about their procedure to them, saying I would rather have one charge and a refund if something went wrong rather than the way it is done now. But I also understand from an accounting aspect how they may want all that income in the second (or third) quarter rather than have it scattered all about.
As far as the delay with the ornaments, I'm okay with that, because I know they will arrive eventually, no later than the end of this month. I just hope the dimensions of the ornament boxes are such to minimize damage which has been happening a lot these last few years!

I think this is really a case of not charging people for something that hasn't been sent. A good practice. I don't pay for something I'm not going to receive within two weeks.

I gave up waiting & ordered the KOC member Dreambook off Ebay. Gosh, this waiting for the member orns is terrible. I feel like a little kid a week before Christmas...but the week keeps getting extended.
By the way, thanks for the help getting into Digital Dreambook. Much obliged.
Also, I called Crown Center Amy's and placed a wish list order for a couple KC exclusive ornaments. Being born & raised in Independence, I have memories of going to see the Crown Plaza lights at Christmas. I hope I can get a couple of the orns. My mom will be so surprised when she opens them. I hope they bring a smile to her face as she thinks back to all those years ago.
Anyway, thanks Y'all for making me feel welcome & helping a newbie figure things out!

I e-mailed Hallmark about the membership ornaments. Here is their reply -
All of our material states that we will BEGIN shipping KOC membership ornaments in Mid-May and to allow 4 -6 weeks for arrival. They should begin to arrive soon depending on the geographical location. Hope that helps. Your Friends at the Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Club

I called Hallmark, and there was a recording while I was on hold stating the ornaments were shipping in the next few weeks.

Yes, but if they began shipping in mid-May, some of those who used their credit card would have a full charge, not the back and forth charging they are getting.
What's wrong with saying:
While we had planned to start shipping in mid-May, we've had an unexpected delay and will begin shipping in June.

Oh great! That's the two club ornaments I ordered too. If you got yours today, I likely will receive mine by late next week!
