Anything interesting happen today that you don't mind sharing?
I'll go:
My dog was lying on my bed near the windows when the neighbor's cat jumped on the window sill. It startled her, and she hates cats, so she started attacking the window. Of course, she broke a blind, so I have to go buy a new set. Lovely.

No thrift stores, no Hallmark stores.
I'm so glad I'm heading home to Florida where we have lots of thrift stores and Hallmark stores to visit!!! HA HA

I realized yesterday that I haven't had any Woodpeckers (we get two kinds) visit my bird feeder this year. I'm wondering if it had anything to do with the tornadoes we had in early April?
Getting ready for a visit from my Polish cousins who live in France. We will show them cowboys etc. Then Tuesday we all fly to Chicago (my hometown) to visit other cousins, see the sights - and EAT!

Just planted some Yews by the driveway, filled the bird feeders, and stopped by the local Shop Rite for a couple $1 Sabrett HotDogs( the money goes to Breast Cancer research).
I could use a Hallmark ornament fix, anybody got some news to share?
It's May, so I'm expecting our KOC ornaments this month.
Early June is our next local club meeting. Maybe we will get something, or atleast something to talk about, from Hallmark before then.
And not to long after that it's July and Premiere. That's when I start hearing the "woshhhhh" sound(the money being sucked out of my wallet for all the ornaments I'm buying).

I had the pleasure of going to the dentist this morning for a cleaning Teeth were pretty clean so it wasn't tooo bad. Stopped at a couple of boutiques and shops on the square on my way home. Just finished doing 30 minutes on the treadmill and am heading outside shortly. It's too nice out to be inside!

Sat on the retirement bench this morning and had some coffee. Watched the birds flying in with food for their newly hatched family. Got dressed for my part time job at church; had a good lunch, came home and took a nap. Walked down to the mail box to see if anything had come from Hallmark--very disappointed there! Had some fish for dinner and now getting ready to read for a few hours. I can't stand all this excitement!

I just got home from picking up my new glasses.
When I walked into their office, both girls at the same time told me that my hubby and I were mentioned by name in a book written by one of their patients!!
I found out that one of my doctor's other patients who we've been friends with for a long time, but haven't heard from in ages, has written a couple of books and we were mentioned in them!! We knew him and his family from before he was born.

Josh's car was leaking gas and then it wouldn't start because it had air in the lines. Thought we were going to have to tow it, but put two gallons of gas in it and after several attempts it started and it was enough to get it to the repair shop. The repair guy said he'd fix Josh's car right away and was true to his word - took less than two hours and it was under $50. We've gone to that place before and the guy didn't take a tip then, so this time we brought back a box of Krispy Kreme donuts and he was really happy to get that. It's nice to have a shop that we trust.
We've had orioles in the trees in our backyard. Never seen them around here before so it was exciting to see the bright yellow bodies with red heads flying about.
It rained a bit last week so the ground is softer to make weeding effective. Not fun, but it is a good feeling to see a pile of weeds in the yard trash.
I've been battling a cold for a week. Ugh.
Going to see Kristin Chenoweth in concert this weekend. Yippee!

I have had some excitement today. In my classes we have a test on Thursday, and when our instructor does our review he throws candy at us when we get a question right. Since I'm diabetic I take my own candy, but it's fun to go through the review. I bought some Laffy Taffy the other night so there would be plenty of that since some of my classmates are addicted to it (and they read the dumb jokes on the wrappers). I ended up getting a 98 on my test which made me really happy.
Not long before class ended our instructor announced that he's leaving at the end of this class. The school is changing the class times from a morning class that runs from 7:15 to 10:55 and an afternoon class from 11:50 to 3:40. There's also a night class in the massage therapy program (I'm in the medical billing and coding classes, halfway through my 8th class with #9 starting in 2 weeks; I start an externship in mid-July for 5 weeks and hopefully get a job out of that). So we had some people who were pretty wound up about the new class schedule of 8 AM to noon and 6 PM to 10 PM before they found out our instructor is leaving.
I decided that since it was a beautiful day and I didn't have to hurry home I'd visit three thrift stores nearby. At the Goodwill store I found 12 Hallmark ornaments, and I bought them all. I know I have some of them but my mom and some of my friends might not, so I figured I'd move them along the path towards a new home. The cashier said that she thinks the Christmas things should be half price so she only charged me 99 cents for each one. Color me happy! I'll post in another thread what I got. Nothing as good as a #1 Frosty Friend but for 99 cents I'm not going to complain a bit. The other two stores had nothing I wanted; I was hoping one had a damaged prototype I saw there before Christmas but someone else decided to give it a good home. If it had still been there it would have come home with me today. I'm sure it's enjoying its new home anyway.
Saturday is my local club meeting, and a product development guy from Hallmark may be coming (when I saw the woman who was coordinating that a couple of weeks ago she hadn't been in contact with him to finalize things, and when I saw her last weekend her father wasn't doing too well so I forgot to ask her). I'll try to take good notes and share what I learn.

Just got home from seeing the 2012 ornaments. Had a great time. The two clubs that I belong to were there and the store owners. Gave some input as to what I liked and saw. They have a box that is for cards, but can be used with the kitchen ornaments. Very nice. Some of the ornaments are bigger then I thought. All the ones I'm getting are still the ones I liked after I saw them. Had a very nice time.

Went to a Hallmark store today to pick up some cards. Love the manager. She always makes me laugh. I was going to stop on the way home and visit my best friend. She died 3 years ago today. She died on Mother's Day (which fell on the 10th). My husband is taking me to visit her on Mother's Day. I miss her so much.... My heart still hurts. Time is suppose to make it better. I don't think that will ever happen.

I too went to visit a Hallmark today, it was the one in Arlington Heights that will be having an Artist Signing in September. I talked to the store manager and asked what the plans are for the signing. They still don't have much planned, there will be a dinner Friday night and their Club members will get in Saturday morning an hour earlier then everyone else. Thinking about joining that Club, never knew it excited before this Event. Also did some other shopping and went out to lunch with my friend Rona. All in all had a very nice day and the weather was beautiful!

Just home from seeing The Avengers and loved it. Sandy was at bell choir and regular choir practice. The choir at our church is having a talent show next week and Sandy and I will do "DO You Love Me? from "Fiddler" and then I'll do "Rich Man" from "Fiddler. Since the two of us celebrate our 70th birthdays in April and May, today we gave each other a gift in the form of season tickets to the 2012-2013 season at Cleveland Square Broadway series .....7 shows. We can't wait. In general a wonderful day.We are blessed.

Helped my Grandpa take an AARP Safety Driving course online....Took 9 hours! But at least now he can get a discount on his car insurance and we are both refreshed in automotive safety...
