Was the blue round thing a hair roller?

Well that's one less that I don't have to worry about since I know I won't want it. I really thought that the clues would much harder this year.

That's what it looked like to me.

1970s was when Mattel did the first Barbie Styling Heads.

Surely not.

My thought was a Barbie Stying Head too. If this turns out to be it, I'll pass. Not a barbie collector..

Depending on what it looks like, I will be getting it just purely for nostalgic reasons. I remember the days when I used to go to bed with rollers in my hair and towards the end they were great big gigantic ones. My mother could never understand how I could sleep with them in. I remember telling her that because I was so accustomed to them that it was hard to sleep without them...lol! Then the curling iron made a big impact and the rollers became a thing of the past. Remember the dryers with hoods and their plastic cases? Boy I haven't thought about those in years!

I counted a total of 11 Barbie ornaments this year (including club and mystery). Almost enough for her own Dreambook.

I agree that the ornament must deal with hair / hair products; looks like a blue handled hairbrush and roller. If this does deal with "Barbie", it will not be on my want-list.

I am glad for the Barbie collectors as it will be the last year for them but personally, its way too many in one year. I would rather have seen 4-5 more original sculpts than as many licensed ornaments as they have.

Just my opinion, though it does save me some money I am sure! \:\)

I think it's fine that they're doing that many Barbies. Many collectors do love them, and I'm sure there will be at least one limited quantity ornament for them. That's fine by me. People love them and will miss them next year, so I'm all for it for their sake.

I do have a few Hallmark Barbie ornaments. Barbie #3, that retro Barbie house one, Barbie and the Rockers, and Peaches and Cream Barbie. 80s Barbies. My time with Barbie, so I had to get the 2 80s Barbies.

Sue, I do remember those days also. You just might be little younger than I am. I remember rolling my hair and securing the curl with bobby pins. For some reason, I had to let my hair dry naturally, those hooded dryers never worked on me. My hair held the curl longer when I let it dry naturally.

To get back on the subject, if it is a Barbie item or anything to do with hair styling. I am not interested.

I heard there would be 12, so that must be it....and the first picture looks like blonde hair with a blue bow or something.

I'd be gobsmacked if it involved anything other than hair styling since they mention teasing in a positive light and it's the only positive teasing there is. Like my British lingo there? ;\) Gobsmacked should become an American term. It's awesome and reminds me of gobstoppers.

Anyway, if someone has a hair stylist, no matter if this is Barbie or not, this would be a cute ornament to gift to them. So there's your upside.

I'm almost convinced that it's going to be the Barbie Styling Head. What an interesting Barbie ornament to do. If that's it, kudos to the creative team. I'm sure there isn't another Barbie Styling Head ornament out there. And it would be hilarious to see it in Queli's Barbie House for little Kelly to be styling Barbie's hair.

There are probably so many Barbie's for 2012 because it is her last year as a Keepsake Ornament. Doesn't bother me because I don't collect Barbie. But I appreciate it when there are lots of ornaments I don't want. Even though I buy less ornaments per year than I used to, collectively it costs a lot more since each ornament costs more. Here's hoping in 2013 they don't replace the Barbies with something I will want. My sympathy to all those collectors who have faithfully purchased the Barbie ornaments over the years. I personally think Hallmark went waaaaay overboard with the Barbie orns., but it will be odd in 2013 when there isn't even going to be an ornament for the annual "Holiday Barbie."
