OK...I had never found anything Hallmark to speak of at a garage sale. I have to admit, I do not frequent them often. I had some errands this morning so was out earlier than normal. I passed this house and thought, that looked interesting...so...I turned the car around and went back.

I Found......TWO ARMOIRES FROM LAST YEARS SIGNING EVENTS.. FOR $10.00 EACH!!!!!! I was so nervous paying for it I kept thinking someone was going to change their mind...What an unbelieveable day!!!
I already had one for myself that a Fantastic Yulelogger made possible, however, since we buy our Daughter's KOC membership, I wanted her to have one also, so this year, I could buy her the white one and she would have the pair.

The problem...I just purchased one from a fellow Yulelogger for a much much higher price...Oh well, I had one, now I have four...Go figure. I will actually have two extra that maybe I can sell and recoup the price I paid for the one purchased from a very nice Yulelogger... A very happy day. \:\) \:\) \:\)

Barbara, that's awesome. You'll be able to use them to pay for some of the back collecting you're doing. Finding two Santa's Armoires at a garage sale makes no sense to me, but why question? I'd have been thrilled too and excited...and a bit shaky... What a find!

Congrats!

Lisa,
They did not belong to the lady selling them. They had no price and when I ask, she just said, I guess $10 each. The lady who owned them will probably faint when she finds out. You would have thought the owner would have told her what price to ask for them. Gosh, I just looked at them again and I still cannot believe it. \:\) I feel bad for the owner. She really got beat out of some money.

Wow! I just love yardsales, especially when you come across such great deals. And I too wonder what the owner is feeling.

Congrats on your find.

I don't know Barbara. If the owner bought them locally and paid $40 for each, $10 each would be about right for a garage sale. Man, makes you wonder though...any Hallmark collector would know...awesome find!

We found a complete set of encyclopedia brittanicas in one of our buildings the other day. Someone had donated them for a garage sale many years ago. Turns out they're worth $300. The proceeds will go to one of our member non-profits. It pays to check Ebay!

Not one, but two armoires!? Makes you wonder. Their loss is your gain--congrats, Barbara!

Susan neither are signed. Both are like they have never been removed from their boxes before me.I know how hard it was for a lot of people to get just one. I cannot remember the place, but somewhere the Hallmark Shop sold all they had in pre-orders and the poor people in line got nothing.
I will always wonder about these two. I will always wonder how someone here in my town where a signing was not close to ended up with two. You talk about things that make you go hmmmmmm.

I don't understand Barbara. In your title line you add that you're "a little disappointed" - where does the disappointment part come in? I'd be thrilled to have 4 of these ornaments. (please no jokes about me and my D.O.O. - duplicate ornament obsession) LOL

Terri, You misunderstood. I LOVE having four of these and I too suffer from multiple ornament obesssion when I fall in one with one. LOL In fact, I have about 8 different ornaments that I could own 10 each and love them all. One is Checking It Twice and I do now own six. \:\)
The disppointed was that I had just paid a good amount of money from a very nice Yulelogger who had one for sale. I felt like her price was reasonable, so I bought it and then found those at the garage sale within less that 7 days for $10 a piece. Who knew???? I should have bought a lottery ticket that day. LOL \:\)

Wow Barbara, you sure have great luck finding event product way below box price shortly after an event. Congratulations.

Didn't you already sell an armoire on ebay in the $100 range around November? I bet if you sell this extra you recently bought from a very nice YuleLogger for a reasonable price you'll make a little profit on the whole deal...so just look at the big picture and there will be no disappointment in the end.

Or maybe you could offer it back to the YuleLogger community for the same price you paid on the B/S/T board? That way you aren't out anything but are also giving a collector who truly wants it the chance to add it to their collection "for a reasonable price."
