The very interesting and popular Nativity Set thread here has prompted me to plan a themed area display using "the Nativity" as the theme. I went through my ornaments last night pulling any that have Nativities on them. I came up with only 6, but those are just the ones in my collection - possibly there are others that I don't own.
Here's what I have, and please add to this list any others you can think of..........
2008 A Precious Gift(my fave ornament of 2008 - artist Katrina Bricker
2002 Jesus & Friends - artist Kristina Kline-Gaughran
2000 The Good Book - artist Duane Unruh
2000 The Blessed Family - artist Tracy Larson
1998 Miracle in Bethlehem - artist Ed Seale
1995 Rejoice! - artist Joyce Lyle
In addition to the above which are strictly Nativities, some other ornaments like the following could be considered Nativity accessory parts or pieces. Feel free to list some more separately from the actual Nativities, if you'd like.
2003 Sweetest Little Angel - artist Kristina Kline-Gaughran 2004 Sweetest Little Shepherd - " " " " 2004 Godchild - artist Nina Aube
Maybe I'll find I have more suitable pieces than I thought.

I don't have all the details in front of me but don't forget Joyce Lyle's porcelain/ceramic sculpts of the Holy Family with each of the 3 Wise Men and the Shepherds.
Patricia Andrews also did the Three Kings (Noor, Mahl and...uh, the other guy) which were just beautifully sculpted.
ETA: the other guy was King Kharoof

Another nativity ornament to add would be A Child Was Born (2007).

So, I will add to your list when I get that tree finished. I can think of the following nativity scene ornaments I have: 5 Miniature Creche series, 1985-1989 ( These are not in the miniature Keepsake ornament line but regular Keepsake ornaments.) 2008 Light of Bethlehem ornaments (Let Us Adore Him & Hope Shines Bright) I'm using all 5 Light of Bethlehem ornaments on my tree. 2000 Laser Creations: The Nativity 2001 Journey to Bethlehem Bell 1998 The Holy Family 1997 Nativity Tree 1995 Starlit Nativity (miniature ornament) Hope you take pictures of your display and post them.

Found another one that I own:
1990 miniature Nativity - artist Duane Unruh
Claudia, I had to draw the line on pre-Christmas purchases, but I'm hoping for a few of the Light of Bethlehem's (especially the Nativity one) after Christmas if I decide to go out shopping.

Also some of the L&M ornaments . . I don't have my list in front of me but The Animals Speak and those that are similar. I use to do a garland across and down each side of a 5' entryway into the foyer/family room with all of those ornaments. Off to dance but IF no one else comes up with the correct years and names of those that would fit into your theme I'll post later tonight.

I have some that I can add to the list: 2005 Nacio el Amor 1990 Little Drummer Boy 1992 Loving Shepherd 1994 Happy Birthday Jesus 1996 Madonna and Child 2005 Once Upon a Starry Night 2003 Away to the Manger
I'll add more as I come across them! Great topic, Ginny!

I don't have a list of the Nativity related ornaments in my collection, but there are more than have been mentioned so far. I did a search for Nativity at Hooked on Hallmark, and it lists quite a few ornaments. It's worth taking a look: http://www.hookedonhallmark.com/search.asp?keyword=nativity

toppershopper, thanks for posting the HOH link for Hallmark nativity ornaments. I found a few more nativity theme ornaments that I own for my theme tree. I had forgotten that the 2007 Cane Cane Lane ornament fit the nativity theme and it's one of my favorites too. Ginny, the 1999 The Christmas Story is another favorite of mine. It's a little heavy but the detail is great. Thanks for posting this thread.

Claudia, did you know Hallmark did a series on the miniature Creche, there were 5 in the series. The series started in 1985 and ended in 1989, the creches are very cute and made out of different materials; glass, wood, metal and plastic.

Joyce Joyce, I posted earlier in this thread about the miniature creche series. I do have all 5 of them. Thanks! I can't wait to get all my packages mailed so I can finish decorating. Every year I'm going to decorate earlier but something always happens to delay the decorating.

Do we include the Peanuts one? Remember the one last year of Linus telling Charlie Brown the Christmas Story?

Barbara Barbara I don't display the 2007 Linus ornament on my religious theme tree. I also have the 2006 That's What Christmas Is All About, Charlie Brown display piece and it gets display elsewhere. Ginny, started this thread and I really don't mean to take it over.

Ginny, started this thread and I really don't mean to take it over. Claudia, I've never once felt like you were taking it over ... or that I "owned" this thread. I'm just glad so many find it of interest. And I've discovered through it and all of your contributions that there are really many Nativity set ornaments along with individual Nativity pieces ornaments. I do like your 1999 The Christmas Story. I'm not sure how I missed getting that one other than that was a very traumatic year for me in several ways and possibly also because of the price tag. 9 years ago, it was still considered pretty pricey (at least by me) to pay $22.00 for an ornament. Ha, not that it still isn't ... but I wouldn't mind finding that one. Have we named them all now, or are there others?

Ginny, Do you have a current YuleLog program? The 2007 version lists 106 ornaments with either Nativity in the name or some form of nativity. I'm sure that some of them would not be what you want for your display but it gives you a starting point.
I have thought about making a nativity themed tree to go along with my Nativity sets. I am still trying to get a picture taken of my Nativities to show everyone. It's on my list....

Hmmmm .... we need a Nativity Icon. Linda, yes, I've got the YuleLog software and found the 109 ornaments there. Among them were some really nice ones that I somehow missed when they were first introduced. I'll look forward to the pictures of your Nativities.
