Thanks for the list - yippee, San Jose got a signing!!!

Woo! Hoo! Warsaw Indiana...Party Shop here I come. It is only a 70 mile drive for me...I am so excited.

I can't believe it, not only is one in Michigan, but it is just
4 miles from my home. It is also one of the clubs I belong to that is our sponsor. Thank you Hallmark!!!!! I can't wait.

I know who all the other artists are on the lists, but I don't know what Orville Wilson has done.

Did he do any orns in the new Dream Book? Thanks for the update.

i have one in delray,florida.. which is about an hour from me.. but the 2 people going to be there are ones i dont even know? i got robbed

Pottsville...a little less than an hour away. As long as I can get off work I'll be there. If I remember correctly it's a tiny tiny store and definitely not one of my favorites to shop in.

Sue, I'm sure Hallmark will be publishing a list of ornaments each artist has done. You never know, the ones coming to your area could've done something you like, if not in the past years, then in this year's line up.

Checking the photocopy of the Draft copy of the Dream Book, I can only make out 2 orns done by Orville Wilson - Doggy in the Window (dog photoholder) and Pac-Man (the video game machine).

Does anyone know anything else for him? Some of the pages are hard to read or some of the info is cut off on some of the pages.

Way to go Buffalo - and by September the snow should be just about gone too!!!

GASP! No signing event in KC, as someone said always happens? I counted all 20, and there aren't any in Kansas City on either side of the state line or any of its suburbs!

I told my husband that I'm looking forward to going back to Warsaw to see Ken Crow. He said "OK." I may have to see if anybody from my Indy local club wants to go with me so he can be free to do whatever he does when I'm gone for the day (like going to the music store or to Borders). Heck, I might even start pulling out my ornaments this weekend to take to Indy so that they'll be there when the event time comes up!

I hope we'll get to go to the outlet store while we're there to see what they have that I need! Last year when I went I asked if they had any more of Clara's books. The nice lady working told me that they had sold all of them (it had been several years since I'd been there so I wasn't surprised) but the green books by Clara had been replaced with a white book. She showed me a copy of the 2006 Bangzoom book and I didn't tell her I contributed to it.

Thanks for sharing the information from the website - I went to look and see what other information I might find about other things and the website is down.

And I'm doing some updates with some information I didn't get on last year's lists. As soon as I get the Dream Book I'll get the 2008 information from them added to my lists.

Does anyone know what the Member Opportunity is?

San Diego here I come! My stepson moved there a few months ago - a new job opportunity - so it will be a nice visit with him and attend a signing! Only about 5 1/2 hours away - I'm so excited and ready to start going through ornaments.

We could hope it's an opportunity to purchase our missing colorway pony. Then again, how are we going to get this years? They should offer this years through the signing stores and mail order. Just my opinion.

There was something in Collectively Speaking or For Keeps about a September Member Opportunity. No information beyond that. My bet would be a new ornament and not a colorway of A Pony for Christmas since all of the past colorways of that series were available at an event or for purchase through your local club.

KCCPursuit posted a while back that there would be an event in 2010 to celebrate Hallmark's 100th birthday. And since it takes them 18 months to plan for an event I wouldn't expect anything to be published soon about plans for 2009 or 2010. The planning interval is why they stopped having big events every year and went to the every-other-year cycle.

I just naturally assumed the "August member opportunity" was the rescheduled previously announced "September member opportunity" - the in-store time when KOC members can purchase the Peanuts Gang "Christmas Hugs" piece shown on kocmembers.com and literature.

I guess we know where the collectors live.

I'm not sure that I'd quite put it that way since I guess they really don't feel they "owe" us anything, but I do think they could have exercised a bit better judgment in how they arranged some of these newer and less prolific artists ... like I noticed they did for the San Diego signing. At least there, they put an unknown in with a popular and prolific artist Tammy Haddix.

But in at least 2 other locations, including the one in my area, I don't see how 1 new/ less prolific artist plus another 1 of the same equates to a great signing event! Unless they have LOTS of desirable items in the 2008 line-up, neither has scarcely 2 dozen pieces to their credit. One thing to be said for it, one could probably have no difficulty having their entire collection signed as the lines should not be long! Seems like they could have handled the others like the San Diego one too, but they didn't, and it's not just the collectors, but the hosting stores that lose out because of it.

Since I own only one ornament between the 2 artists, I will probably forego attendance at this event. I still have plenty of time - 6 months - to decide whether to travel to another event, but right now, saving up for hopefully a big event that may involve travel in 2009 is sounding better and better. I don't foresee any problem getting the event piece without attending if I decide I want it since I have friends in some of these locations who would go and buy it for me, or there are always stores that will do mail order too.

But like I said, I've got monthis to make a final decision. It's not like it's an early RSVP type occasion (G)... except that I understand hotels in Madison WI need to be booked soon because of football fans.

I have the same problem with the Florida signing. That is a LONG drive for 2 of the newer artists.

I checked and I have 2 ornaments for each of them in my collection. Doesn't seem worth the drive for that. Maybe they will have a ton of ornaments in the 2008 line.

I was thinking about having them sign the inside story book from last year , but there is no picture of those two artists. Robert Hurlburt and Terri Steiger.

I have met Robert before. He was at the Orlando event last year. Of course I didn't have anything for him to sign. He was willing to sign after a talk he did.
